Beautiful Handmade Jewlery

"Kitsune Jewelry is hand-crafted in my small Virginia studio. My work centers on a distinct, modern aesthetic inspired by Asian art, Mid-Century Modern, and Art Deco. Each one-of-a-kind piece features a unique mix of vintage and recycled materials including kimono silks, glass and stone beads, wood, metals, horn, and bone. I lovingly bead and sew each piece myself using a range of techniques. The results are rich, elegant statement pieces crafted to flatter their owners for a lifetime."

My friend Garnett launched her own jewelry site on Etsy. Visit her store here.

Bjørg Jewellery collection 2009

Oslo Jewelry designer Bjørg in her own words. “My work is very intuitive and most of it happens without me really knowing where it came from or how... This year’s collection is a lot more figurative and a lot of it comes from specific images of the Victorian era and its “Memento Mori” jewellery, there are also elements of surrealism and old fairy-tales.
The surrealist aspect is present in the approach as much as in the actual imagery. It’s about defying conventions, finding the beauty in imperfection and creating something that not only looks good, but also resonates certain thoughts, emotions or even humor...

Another Reason to Love Etsy

Artist Lauren Haupt is going into my "favorites" at Etsy- not only do I heart her jewelry but I heart her blogspot. Check out these beautiful pieces above. Her strong sense of composition, simple designs and fantastic prices left me with little choice but to buy one of the pieces (and possibly another one- if I can't stop thinking about it). My piece is featured above, guess which one I got!
